Life Groups exist to equip the church to fulfill its mission to strengthen the church and grow God’s kingdom by cultivating a culture of personal discipleship.
Life Groups at FBCO have three strategic focuses.
Bible Study — Life Groups study the Bible book-by-book to strengthen disciples in their understanding of Scripture so they can grow in conformity to Christ and make disciples of others.
Gospel Community — Life Groups seek to cultivate a community of disciples who display the gospel together by knowing, loving, praying, caring, and serving one another after the pattern of Christ.
Missional Engagement — Life Groups seek to make disciples in our community and among the nations through engagement in evangelism, missions, and acts of mercy.
While as a church, FBCO has many discipleship programs, the central discipleship strategy is Life Groups. Organizing into small groups, Life Groups meet each week with its three strategic focuses in mind to study the Bible, deepen our fellowship, and become equipped to missionally engage our neighbors and the nations.
As the American church consistently reports and exemplifies higher levels of biblical illiteracy, Life Groups seeks to strengthen our understanding of Scripture so we can apply all of Christ to all of life.
In a digital age of increased loneliness and isolation, Life Groups are designed to deepen fellowship among believers. Through consistent investments in Life Groups, Christians learn how to live in community with others, cultivating meaningful and transformative relationships that honor Christ and build up the church. In other words, Life Groups is designed to empower you to move from passive participant to an active discipler.
Since we are called to make disciples and love our neighbors, Life Groups organize together to share Christ through evangelism and show his love through acts of mercy. In this way, Life Groups help mobilize the church to be the hands and feet of Christ.
We invite you to visit a Life Group this Sunday!
Sunday Life Groups Times
Please note: the ages listed above with each group reflect the general makeup of that individual group and are not requirements for visiting or joining that group. We encourage you to feel free to visit any group to discern where you might best experience fellowship, learn, and make disciples of others. The only exceptions are the College, Adult 2 Early, and Women’s class. The College class is exclusively for those graduated high school– age 22; 2 Early is exclusively for those between 22–29; and the Women’s Class is exclusively for Women (of any age).
